Hoeven Pays Tribute to Returning Soldiers at Fargo Freedom Salute
FARGO, N.D. – Senator John Hoeven today honored members of the North Dakota National Guard’s 231st Brigade Support Battalion Logistical Support Element (BSB LSE), who recently returned from a nearly yearlong deployment overseas. The fifteen soldiers provided support for U.S. Central Command units by managing supplies, maintenance, transportation and preparing cargo for movement.
“We are very grateful to welcome these fifteen soldiers back home,” said Hoeven. “All deployments require tremendous personal sacrifices by our soldiers, their families and their communities. The majority of the soldiers we’re welcoming home today have now completed not just one, but two and even three deployments. Today I join our entire state in thanking them for their dedication to our country and their very real sacrifices on our behalf.”
The 231st BSB LSE is based out of Fargo and commanded by Capt. Nicolette Daschendorf and First Sgt. Kevin Magstadt. This was the third deployment for three of the soldiers in the unit and the second deployment for eight of the soldiers.
Hoeven is a member of the Senate Appropriations Military Construction and Veterans Affairs Subcommittee.
