Hoeven: Minot International Airport Receives $840,000 FAA Grant
WASHINGTON – Senator John Hoeven, who serves on the U.S. Senate Appropriations Committee, today announced that the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has awarded $842,409 to Minot International Airport. The grant will be used to update the airport’s layout and master plans to address key issues, goals and objectives that are critical to the airport’s future development.
“North Dakota’s transportation needs continue to grow at a rapid rate,” Hoeven said. “Today’s funding will allow officials at Minot International Airport to update the airport’s master plan and layout so that it can address key issues, objectives and goals and meet our state’s transportation needs.”
Hoeven has been working to secure federal funding for expansion and improvement projects at Minot International Airport and other North Dakota airports. In June, the senator announced additional grant funding to improve Minot International Airport’s runway. Last August, Hoeven visited the Minot Airport to review the progress on the construction projects there, shortly after the airport had received a total of $10.5 million to complete runway and apron projects. Last September, the airport received more than $4.4 million in additional funds to help with the construction of a new terminal building and apron.
