Hoeven Joins Cruz Amicus Brief
WASHINGTON – Senator John Hoeven (R-N.D.) joined a Supreme Court amicus brief, led by Senator Ted Cruz (R-Texas), in the case Donald J. Trump v. Norma Anderson, et al., challenging the State of Colorado’s disqualification of former President Trump from the state’s ballot and urging the U.S. Supreme Court to overturn the decision.
“Elections should be decided at the ballot box, not at the discretion of state officials,” said Senator Hoeven. “The decision by the Colorado Supreme Court seeks to limit the ability of voters to make up their own minds about candidates.”
Cruz was joined on the brief by 41 additional Senate Republicans including Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) and Senators John Barrasso (R-Wyo.), Marsha Blackburn (R-Tenn.), John Boozman (R-Ark.), Mike Braun (R-Ind.), Katie Boyd Britt (R-Ala.), Ted Budd (R-N.C.), Shelley Moore Capito (R-W.
