Hoeven Honors Service of Senator Jocelyn Burdick with Senate Resolution
WASHINGTON – Senator John Hoeven, along with Senator Kevin Cramer, today introduced a Senate resolution to honor the life and service of the late Jocelyn Burdick, former U.S. Senator for the State of North Dakota and the first woman to represent North Dakota in the U.S. Senate. Hoeven also delivered remarks on the Senate floor to honor her service.
“Jocelyn Burdick was the first woman to represent North Dakota in the U.S. Senate, and we join with the people of North Dakota and our nation in expressing our appreciation for her service,” said Hoeven. “I knew Jocelyn and she was a fine person. She was a woman of her word, admired and appreciated. This resolution expresses our gratitude for her lifetime of public service. Mikey and I send our condolences to her family and friends.”
