Hoeven Honors North Dakota Guardmembers at Send-off Ceremony in Devils Lake
DEVILS LAKE, N.D. – Senator John Hoeven today commended the service of 50 members of the North Dakota National Guard’s 835 Engineer Detachment at a send-off ceremony in Devils Lake. The senator, joined by Governor Doug Burgum and Adjutant General Alan Dohrmann, commended the servicemembers and outlined his ongoing efforts to support the men and women of the North Dakota National Guard as a member of the Senate Defense Appropriations Committee. Headquartered at Camp Grafton Training Center, the company will deploy to the United States Central Command (CENTCOM) area of responsibility, where they will be providing support to CENTCOM.
“The North Dakota National Guard represents the very best of our country and we thank the men and women of the 835 Engineer Detachment for their willingness to serve as they prepare to provide critical support to the mission,” said Hoeven. “As always, we also extend our appreciation to their families for making this sacrifice on behalf of our nation. We are praying for their safety and success during this deployment and look forward to their safe return.”
