Hoeven: HHS Awards Research Funding to UND
WASHINGTON – Senator John Hoeven, a member of the Senate Appropriations Committee, today announced that the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), through the National Institute of General Medical Sciences (NIGMS), has awarded $3,379,827 to the University of North Dakota (UND). This grant will support pharmacology, physiology and biological chemistry research through the North Dakota IDeA Networks of Biomedical Research Excellence (INBRE).
“Today’s funds will assist UND with recruiting and retaining both scientific faculty and research students. Attracting these talented researchers to North Dakota will further enhance North Dakota’s workforce and economy, while also helping to preserve our nation’s role as a leader in research,” said Hoeven.
