Hoeven: HHS Awards More Than $2 Million to Establish NDSU's Center for Diagnostic and Therapeutic Strategies in Pancreatic Cancer
WASHINGTON – Senator John Hoeven, who serves on the U.S. Senate Appropriations Committee, today announced that the Department of Health and Human Services’ (HHS) National Institute of General Medical Sciences has awarded a $2,061,095 exploratory grant to establish a Center for Diagnostic and Therapeutic Strategies in Pancreatic Cancer at North Dakota State University’s (NDSU) Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences. Today’s award is the first portion of an expected five-year project.
“Almost all of us know someone who has battled or is battling cancer,” Hoeven said. “It’s important that we invest in programs and research that will help us beat this disease, and funding like this will support researchers at NDSU who are working hard to help us better understand how we can do just that.”
