Hoeven: HHS Awards More than $1.6 Million to North Dakota for Cancer Prevention and Control Programs
WASHINGTON – Senator John Hoeven, who serves on the U.S. Senate Appropriations Committee, today announced that they Department of Health and Human Services’ (HHS) Centers for Disease Control and Prevention / National Center for Chronic Diseases Prevention and Health Promotion has awarded $1,687,944 to the North Dakota State Department of Health. The funds will be used to support cancer prevention and control programs.
“Almost all of us know someone who has battled or is battling cancer,” Hoeven said. “It’s important that we invest in programs that will help us beat this disease and funding like this will take us closer to better understanding how we can prevent cancer, which will save countless lives.”
