Hoeven: HHS Awards Funding to North Dakota Department of Health & NDSU
WASHINGTON – Senator John Hoeven, a member of the Senate Appropriations Committee, today announced that the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has awarded funding to the North Dakota Department of Health (NDDoH) and to North Dakota State University (NDSU). Details are as follows:
- North Dakota State University – $433,934 awarded from the National Cancer Institute to support cancer treatment research.
- North Dakota Department of Health – $390,000 awarded from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to conduct and perform a voluntary telephone health survey across the state.
“Today’s funding from HHS will support research efforts at NDSU to enhance treatment and care for those who have cancer, and will help improve efforts to prevent chronic disease,” said Hoeven.
