Hoeven: HHS Award Nearly $1.3 Million Head Start Grant to Cankdeska Cikana Community College
WASHINGTON – Senator John Hoeven, a member of the Senate Appropriations Committee, today announced that the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has awarded $1.27 million to the Cankdeska Cikana Community College. The funds will support the institution’s Head Start and Early Head Start programs, which serve children from birth through age five as well as expecting mothers in the surrounding community. The award comes as part of a five-year grant that began in 2014.
“Today’s award is an investment in the continued education and well-being of the children and families of the Spirit Lake Nation,” Hoeven said.
