Hoeven Helps Introduce, Pass Senate Resolution Honoring National Police Week
WASHINGTON – Senator John Hoeven joined Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Dick Durbin (D-Ill.) and Ranking Member Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) in introducing a Senate Resolution marking National Police Week, which has now unanimously passed the Senate. The resolution reiterates support for the men and women in law enforcement and honors the 576 law enforcement officers who were killed in the line of duty in 2021 and the 92 lost to date in 2022.
“We are so grateful for our nation’s law enforcement officers,” said Hoeven. “I helped introduce this resolution to honor the men and women who protect our communities and pay tribute to those who have lost their lives in the line of duty. At the same time, this resolution shows that we remain committed to ensuring they have the necessary equipment, training and support that they need to keep our communities safe.”
In addition to Hoeven, Grassley and Durbin, the resolution was cosponsored by 83 U.S. Senators. Click here for the full text of the resolution.
