Hoeven, Heitkamp: Senate Passes Resolution Commending National Championship NDSU Football Team

Senators John Hoeven and Heidi Heitkamp today announced that the Senate has unanimously passed a resolution they authored to honor the NCAA Division I National Championship North Dakota State University (NDSU) Bison on its winning season. The resolution recognizes the hard work and accomplishments of the NDSU coaches and players as well as the support of the NDSU alumni and fans.

“The Bison had another tremendous season that culminated with their third consecutive national championship,” said Hoeven. “This resolution recognizes the dedication of Coach Craig Bohl, his team and the unparalleled fans and alumni who comprise Bison Nation. The State of North Dakota is incredibly proud of the Bison’s championship win, and this resolution makes our support a matter of historical record in the Senate.”

“For the third year in a row, the NDSU football team’s hard work was rewarded with a well-deserved national championship,” said Heitkamp. “With this resolution, the entire Senate is recognizing the players and coaches for an incredible season, and all of the fans for their unwavering support. We hope to pass another one after next year’s national championship.”

The Bison won its third Division I national title in Frisco, Texas, on January 4, defeating the Towson University Tigers of Maryland 35 to 7.
