Hoeven Events Schedule
BISMARCK, N.D. – Senator John Hoeven plans to hold events throughout North Dakota in August while the U.S. Congress is in recess. Some events are scheduled and others are still being planned. Advisories will be issued as additional events are scheduled. His agenda for public events tomorrow and the first part of next week is as follows:
Saturday, Aug. 6
Tomorrow, Hoeven will be attending both the North Dakota Veterans Home grand opening and dedication in Lisbon at 10 a.m. and the Outstanding Unit Award Presentation to the North Dakota Air National Guard at 3 p.m. in Fargo.

Monday, Aug. 8
On Monday, Aug. 8, Hoeven will meet at Bismarck City Hall at 9 a.m. with city, county and state officials, and representatives from the Army Corps of Engineers and FEMA to continue efforts to address flood and recovery issues. Hoeven will be available to speak with members of the media immediately after the meeting. On Tuesday morning Senators Hoeven and Conrad will tour flood-affected areas.

Tuesday, Aug. 9
On Tuesday, Aug. 9 Senators Hoeven and Conrad will tour flood-affected areas in Bismarck-Mandan and meet with community leaders and homeowners. In the afternoon, they will be in Minot to meet with United States Department of Agriculture Undersecretary Michael Scuse, area agriculture producers, and Aaron Krauter, state executive director of the North Dakota Farm Service Agency, at the farm of Jon and Eleanor Erickson near Minot at 12 noon to address flooding’s impact on agriculture. At 2:30 p.m. Hoeven, Conrad, Minot community leaders, FEMA officials and volunteers will depart from Minot City Hall to inspect flood damaged areas of the city.

Wednesday, Aug. 10
On Wednesday, Aug. 10, Hoeven, Conrad and members of the Senate Budget Committee will meet at 9 a.m. at the Fargo City Hall to address permanent Fargo-area flood protection. State, city and county officials; an Army Corps representative; and members of the Greater Fargo-Moorhead Economic Development Corporation are expected to attend. At 1:30 p.m., Hoeven will attend the new unmanned aircraft system facility ribbon-cutting at the Grand Forks Air Force Base, before attending the grand opening of the new Grand Forks International Airport terminal at 5 p.m.
