WASHINGTON – Senator John Hoeven today announced that the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) has awarded a total of $9,090,744 to Dickinson Municipal Airport Authority, Garrison Municipal Airport Authority and Tioga Municipal Airport Authority.
“It’s important for us to invest in North Dakota’s airports so that they can continue to support our state’s growing economy and population,” Hoeven said. “This funding will go towards repairing and building infrastructure at key western airports, which will ensure safe and efficient airfield operations.”
The funds are awarded as follows:
- Dickinson Municipal Airport Authority – $300,000 – To fund taxiway rehabilitation
- Garrison Municipal Airport Authority – $3,267,302 – To rehabilitate the runway, maintain structural integrity of the pavement and minimize foreign object debris
- Tioga Municipal Airport Authority – $5,523,442 – To construct a taxiway, fund the construction of an apron to provide airport parking and assist the airport in meeting design standards
As a member of the Senate Appropriations Committee, Senator Hoeven works to support programs that invest in infrastructure and other services to meet the needs of North Dakota’s growing population and commerce.
