Hoeven: DOT Awards $3.6 Million Grant to Improve CAT Transportation Facility in Grand Forks
WASHINGTON – Senator John Hoeven, a member of the Senate Appropriations Committee on Transportation, Housing and Urban Development and Related Agencies, today announced that the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) has awarded $3.6 million to the City of Grand Forks. The funds are awarded through DOT’s Bus and Bus Facilities Competitive Program and will be used to rehabilitate and expand the Cities Area Transit (CAT) bus facility in Grand Forks.
“Today’s funding is an important investment in the greater Grand Forks community that will help make getting around the city and area easier for residents, students and visitors,” Hoeven said. “Specifically, the CAT facility will be expanded to accommodate more staff and vehicles while upgrades will be made to help the facility operate more efficiently and provide improved training for staff.”
