Hoeven Congratulates Three North Dakota Schools on Receiving National Blue Ribbon Awards
WASHINGTON – Senator John Hoeven today announced that the U.S. Department of Education has selected Roosevelt Elementary School in Mandan, Valley-Edinburg Elementary School in Crystal and Wyndmere Public School in Wyndmere as 2021 National Blue Ribbon Schools. Since 1982, the Blue Ribbon School award has honored public and private schools across the country that display overall academic excellence or progress in closing achievement gaps.
“Receiving this award is a reflection of both the students and educators’ hard work and commitment,” said Hoeven. “Only the very best schools in the nation receive this recognition and we are proud to congratulate Roosevelt Elementary, Valley-Edinburg Elementary and Wyndmere Public School for achieving this honor. We thank them for their continued commitment to excellence for their students and wish them a great school year ahead.”
In November, the 2021 National Blue Ribbon Schools will be recognized at an awards ceremony in Washington, D.C. where they will receive an award plaque and the honorary blue flag to display at their schools to symbolize this accomplishment.
