Hoeven Congratulates ND Air National Guard Unit Named Tops in the Nation

WASHINGTON – Senator John Hoeven today issued the following statement congratulating the North Dakota Air National Guard’s 219^th Security Forces Squadron based at Minot Air Force Base for being named tops in the nation by the National Guard Bureau:

“This recognition confirms what we have known for a long time: The North Dakota Air National Guard is a top-flight team of professionals. Their outstanding performance and dedication in association with the 91^st Missile Wing at the Minot Air Force Base secures America’s defenses and strengthens the base’s mission. They are a source of pride to North Dakota and the nation.”

The unit took top honors out of 86 such squadrons in the United States, and was evaluated on a number of factors, including supply, commander’s support staff, medical, education and training, and recruiting and retention. The formal presentation of the award will be presented at a later date. The 219^th Squadron is the second- largest Security Forces Squadron in the Air National Guard.
