Hoeven Congratulates Bison on Hosting ESPN's College Gameday
WASHINGTON – Senator John Hoeven today congratulated the North Dakota State University Bison for being selected as a host campus for ESPN’s popular College Gameday broadcast next Saturday, September 21. The FCS number one, two-time defending national champion Bison will be playing the Delaware State Hornets.
Hoeven this week wrote to ESPN President John Skipper and Executive Vice President for Production John Wildhack to press for NDSU’s selection:
“I can assure you that a broadcast from the NDSU campus in Fargo, North Dakota, would be memorable for you as well as for your audiences. The enthusiasm of our fans is balanced by their graciousness and sincere welcome to visitors. You would feel that with everyone you meet.
“As for your audience, they would get a glimpse of a city and university they may think they know but is very different than perceptions. Often cited as one of the best “university towns” in the nation by various national publications, NDSU and Fargo are a terrific surprise to those who visit. Let your fans join our fans in that experience.”
Hoeven said he plans to be at the game Saturday to cheer on the Bison.
