Hoeven Celebrates Designation of Central Valley School in Buxton as a National Blue Ribbon School
Three North Dakota Schools Honored This Year for Excellence in Academic Achievement
BUXTON, N.D. – Senator John Hoeven today joined state and local officials in congratulating the administrators, teachers and students of Central Valley School on being designated as a 2018 National Blue Ribbon School. The designation was received in recognition of the school’s exemplary high performance.
“This award is a testament to the dedication of the school staff, the hard work of the students and the support of the parents and surrounding community,” said Hoeven. “Our educators are an essential part of shaping our state and nation’s future by empowering youth to pursue their passions and lead fulfilling and productive lives. We thank them for all that they do, and we give our best wishes to the students as they continue in their education.”
Freedom Elementary in West Fargo and Richland Elementary in Abercrombie were also honored as National Blue Ribbon Schools this year. This is the second year in a row that three North Dakota schools have won the award.
The National Blue Ribbon Program was established in 1982 to recognize the work of the nation’s top schools. Since the program’s founding, 40 North Dakota schools have been designated as blue ribbon schools, with some being designated more than once.
