Hoeven Announces USDA Rural Development Funding to Two North Dakota Communities

WASHINGTON – Senator John Hoeven, Ranking Member of the Senate Agriculture Appropriations Committee, today announced that the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Rural Development has awarded funding to the City of Ellendale and the Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa Indians through the Water and Waste Disposal Loan and Grant Program. Details are as follows:  

  • City of Ellendale – $2,644,000 loan and $747,020 grant to replace sewer pipe and manholes in the city to benefit nearly 1,400 residents. 
  • Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa Indians – Two grants totaling $2,667,000 to construct sewer improvements and replace aging tile and to construct a water reservoir to provide a reliable water supply to residents.

“Today’s grants will help residents in Ellendale and Turtle Mountain access clean, safe and reliable water by improving and updating infrastructure,” said Hoeven.
