Hoeven Announces Senior Corps Grant in North Dakota
WASHINGTON – Senator John Hoeven, a member of the Senate Appropriations Committee, today announced that the Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS) has awarded $307,062 in Fiscal Year (FY) 2020 Senior Corps Senior Companion Program funding to the Tri-County Opportunity Council. Today’s funding was awarded as part of a Senior Corps grant competition, encouraging Americans 55 years and older to volunteer their time to serve older adults who need assistance with daily living tasks.
“It’s vital we support and care for the well-being of our seniors,” said Hoeven. “Today’s funding will help ensure families and individuals in eastern North Dakota are able to live more independent lifestyles thanks to volunteerism and service from others in the community.”
