Hoeven Announces Nearly $5.8 Million in Grants to Support Airport Improvements in Eastern North Dakota
WASHINGTON – Senator John Hoeven, who serves on the U.S. Senate Appropriations Committee, today announced that the U.S. Department of Transportation has awarded three grants totaling nearly $5.8 million to support improvements at airports in eastern North Dakota. The funds are awarded as follows:
• Hector International Airport in Fargo, ND – $5.4 million – The grant will support the reconstruction of 1,700 feet of taxiway that has reached the end of its useful life.
• Lisbon Municipal Airport – $237,653 – The grant will support the rehabilitation of 3,400 feet of runway and 1,580 feet of exit and hangar taxiways in order to maintain the structural integrity of the pavement.
• Northwood Municipal Airport-Vince Field – $90,061 – The grant will fund the design of rehabilitation and reconstruction projects for 3,305 feet of runway.
“Today’s grants will support local efforts to maintain and improve our state’s airport infrastructure, helping to ensure continued economic growth and safe travel for our residents,” Hoeven said.
