Hoeven Announces Nearly $300K Grant to Minot State University in Support of Students with Intellectual Disabilities
WASHINGTON – Senator John Hoeven, who serves on the U.S. Senate Appropriations Committee, today announced that the U.S. Department of Education has awarded a $289,518 grant to Minot State University to support its Advancing Students Toward Education and Employment Program II (ASTEP II). This program will help youth with intellectual disabilities living in rural communities transition into post-secondary education programs, resulting in improved employment opportunities and greater life skills and self-determination.
“Today’s grant will support better outcomes for our state’s youth who live with intellectual disabilities and help them to have a higher quality of life and more independence,” Hoeven said.
