Hoeven Announces More than $500K Grant to Standing Rock Sioux Tribe to Support Employment Training for Persons with Disabilities
WASHINGTON – Senator John Hoeven, who serves on the U.S. Senate Appropriations and Indian Affairs Committees, today announced that the U.S. Department of Education has awarded a five-year grant of $521,823 to the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe for vocational rehabilitation services. The services will help Native Americans with disabilities on or near the reservation prepare for and engage in gainful employment or self-employment.
“Services like vocational rehabilitation are an important part in empowering persons with disabilities to live fulfilling, independent lives, and today’s grant will do just that for those at the Standing Rock Reservation,” Hoeven said.
