Hoeven Announces More Than $220,000 Grant to North Dakota PSC for Pipeline Safety Program
WASHINGTON – Senator John Hoeven, a member of the U.S. Senate Appropriations Committee, today announced that the Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA) has awarded $224,776 to the North Dakota Public Service Commission (PSC). The funds will be used to reimburse North Dakota for the cost of the state’s pipeline safety program for calendar year (CY) 2017, with additional reimbursement set for May 2018 once the total cost of the program’s CY 2017 cost is established.
“North Dakota PSC’s pipeline safety program helps alert the PSC and other authorities to any malfunctions or spills,” Hoeven said. “By helping ensure a timely response, the PSC helps conserve resources and maintain our productive crop and pasture land and our environment. Today’s funds will help fund the PSC’s program so it can continue to serve businesses and individuals throughout our state.”
