Hoeven Announces More Than $182,000 Grant For Canola Research at NDSU
WASHINGTON – Senator John Hoeven, chairman of the Senate Agriculture Appropriations Committee and a member of the Senate Agriculture Committee, today announced that the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) has awarded a $182,200 grant to North Dakota State University (NDSU). The funds will be used to conduct agriculture research to optimize canola production in North Dakota and the surrounding region.
“North Dakota is the top producer of canola in the country,” Hoeven said. “Today’s funding will help decrease input costs and increase yields, which will help empower farmers and further diversify our state’s agriculture economy.”
