Hoeven Announces Funds for Health Research at University of North Dakota
WASHINGTON – Senator John Hoeven, a member of the Senate Appropriations Committee, today announced that the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases has awarded $360,589 to the University of North Dakota (UND). Today’s funds will support research regarding the immune system, including innovative treatment for influenza and other viruses.
“This grant empowers UND to continue researching and improving our understanding of the body’s immune system,” said Hoeven. “Especially as we endure cold and flu season, it’s vital we continue supporting research that can lead to better prevention of disease and improvement of long-term health.”
