Hoeven Announces Funding for Brownfields Program
WASHINGTON – Senator John Hoeven, a member of the Senate Appropriations Committee, today announced that the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has awarded $176,800 to the North Dakota Department of Environmental Quality (NDDEQ). Today’s grant will be used to fund the Brownfields State Response Program and support efforts to survey and inventory hazardous substances at brownfield sites throughout the state, continuing efforts to remediate and redevelop these properties.
“This grant will provide vital resources and help support NDDEQ’s continued efforts to clean up and redevelop brownfield sites throughout the state, providing better environmental stewardship and economic opportunities for previously contaminated areas,” said Hoeven.
