Hoeven Announces Federal Funding for Wahpeton, Hillsboro and Langdon Airports
WASHINGTON – Senator John Hoeven, a member of the U.S. Senate Transportation Appropriations Committee, today announced that the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) has awarded the following grants:
- Wahpeton Airport Authority: $962,442 in federal funding for the Harry Stern Airport to reconstruct 500 feet of existing exit taxiway pavement and 1,100 feet of hangar taxiway.
- Hillsboro Municipal Airport Authority: $300,000 in addition to $4.2 million in funding for the airport that the senator announced last week. The funding will be used to rehabilitate the airport’s runway and runway lighting.
- Langdon Municipal Airport Authority: $65,000 to rehabilitate the runway taxiway lighting system to enhance airfield safety during low visibility.
“These funds will help to maintain and improve airport infrastructure in our state, which will help to improve the safety of pilots and passengers while also strengthening local economies,” said Hoeven.
