Hoeven Announces Economic Development Funds for Standing Rock Sioux Tribe
WASHINGTON – Senator John Hoeven, chairman of the Senate Indian Affairs Committee and a member of the Senate Appropriations Committee, today announced that the Economic Development Administration (EDA) has awarded $150,000 to the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe. Today’s funding will be used to support redevelopment and revitalization efforts to boost the regional economy in response to challenges posed by the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic. This funding was made available through the Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security (CARES) Act.
“This grant to the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe will be used to provide economic relief in the region and help the tribe respond to the COVID-19 public health emergency,” said Hoeven.
