Hoeven Announces CARES Act Funding for UND to Help Combat COVID-19 in Rural Communities
WASHINGTON – Senator John Hoeven, a member of the Senate Appropriations Committee, today announced that the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), through the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) has awarded $3,035,412 to the University of North Dakota (UND). Today’s funding, made available under the Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security (CARES) Act, will be distributed via HRSA’s Small Rural Hospital Improvement Program to the UND Center for Rural Health and will help aid rural hospitals in combatting the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic.
“Today’s funds will assist rural hospitals in North Dakota as they continue to provide quality care during the COVID-19 pandemic, and are important resources that will help support our rural health care providers as well as the patients and communities they serve,” said Hoeven.
