Hoeven Announces $12.5 Million Loan for Slope Electric Cooperative
WASHINGTON – Senator John Hoeven, chairman of the Senate Agriculture Appropriations Committee, today announced that the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Rural Development has approved a $12.5 million loan for Slope Electric Cooperative, Inc. The funds are approved through Rural Development’s Electric Program and will be used to build and improve more than 110 miles of line, repair damages from storms last summer and make smart grid improvements to make the system more efficient and reliable.
“Slope Electric serves individuals and businesses in Adams, Bowman, Hettinger and Slope counties,” said Hoeven. “Today’s loan will help Slope Electric make important investments in its system so that it can continue to serve its customers in southwest North Dakota while also making the system more efficient and reliable.”
