Hoeven Announces $10 Million Guaranteed Loan for Goldenwest Electric Cooperative

WASHINGTON – Senator John Hoeven, who serves on the U.S. Senate Appropriations and Agriculture Committees, today announced that the U.S. Department of Agriculture has approved a guaranteed loan of $10 million for Goldenwest Electric Cooperative. Goldenwest will use its loan to build or improve 62 miles of line and make various improvements. The loan amount includes $270,000 for smart grid projects.

“It’s important for us to invest in infrastructure that allows North Dakotans to power their homes and businesses,” Hoeven said. “Today’s loan will help Goldenwest Electric Cooperative to build and improve on its systems so it can better serve the needs of our growing state.”            

Goldenwest Electric Cooperative serves Billings, Golden Valley and Slope counties.
