Delegation Announces More Than $1.7 Million for North Dakota Airports
Washington – Senators Kent Conrad and John Hoeven and Congressman Rick Berg announced today that two airports in North Dakota will receive grants totaling more than $1.7 million for expansion and improvements.
“Safe and accessible airports are essential for continued economic growth in our state, especially in western North Dakota with the energy boom ” the delegation said in a joint statement. “These are smart investments. By improving and maintaining the quality of the airports in Bismarck and Williston, these grants will make travel both easier and safer for North Dakota businesses and residents .”
- Williston - Sloulin Field International Airport will receive $700,000 to create a master plan.
- Bismarck Municipal Airport will receive $ 1,049,320 to rehabilitate the taxiway, expand and rehabilitate the apron, and conduct an Environmental Assessment.
The grants were awarded by the U.S. Department of Transportation with funds appropriated by Congress.
